Barn Owl Box

Description

A Barn Owl Box is a type of nesting box designed specifically for Barn Owls and as the name suggests, they are installed inside barns.. These boxes are different to the boxes used for Tawny Owls and provide a safe and suitable place for Barn Owls to roost, breed, and raise their young.

Barn Owl Boxes are constructed from sturdy 12mm plywood, which should provide excellent insulation and protection from the elements.

When installing a Barn Owl Box, it’s important to choose a location that is away from human disturbance and that provides easy access for the owls to enter and exit the box. The box should be mounted at least 12 feet off the ground and facing an open area, such as a field or meadow, where the owls can hunt for prey. It’s also important to monitor the box regularly for signs of activity, and to clean it out each year to prevent the buildup of debris.

Overall, providing nesting boxes for Barn Owls can be a great way to support these beautiful and important predators, and our sturdy, well-constructed boxes should provide a great habitat for them.

We don’t recommend that cameras are installed inside the Barn Owl Box but instead, if monitoring is required, a Trail Camera is the best solution mounted at head height, for easy access, pointing at the box.

To assist in securing the house two ratchet straps are included and the box has a removeable lid for cleaning.

Please note that the exercise table requires fixing to the box with the bolts and washers provided.
